A healthy body and a healthy mind are the keys to living a happier life. Eating well and staying active can help you fight off illness, infection and the effects of stress and anxiety. Practicing good habits early in life can help you stay healthier and more alert later in life.

Taking care of our mental health is a priority that can be difficult for some people to stay on top of. They become burdened by their jobs, family commitments, volunteer responsibilities and other tasks that take away from their own self-care. Having good mental health can help us effectively balance our priorities and still allow us to take good care of ourselves. We can say “no” to the people and things that detract from our enjoyment and overall satisfaction in life.

2. Get a Good Night’s Sleep Every Night

Sleep restores our body and mind. It helps the body to repair damage and overcome illness. It also helps our brain rest and recharge. Without enough sleep, we generally tend to feel restless, lethargic or like we’re lacking enough energy. Try to go to bed at a consistent time every night. Do what you can to reduce distractions like noise and sound in your bedroom. This includes reducing intake of food, caffeine or other stimulants before bedtime.

Chances are that they’ve felt the same way at times about certain people or situations. Having a good friend or family member who is willing to listen and understand can help reduce your stress and worries.

Another way to reduce your stress or anxiety is by forgiving the person who puts you in an uncomfortable position. It may take time and practice, but letting go of negatives generally leads to a more positive life.
