Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder
Real Beauty cannot be judged objectively, for what one person finds beautiful or admirable may not appeal to another
Keeping this in mind, The British online pharmacy & natural beauty products company Superdrug Online Doctors tried to investigate this matter in deep. So they asked graphics designers from 18 countries spanning five continents from different culture and perception to take a photograph of a woman and Photoshop it to show their culture’s women beauty standards
And the results have generated quite the buzz.
The natural beauty products company reached 18 freelance designers for “Perceptions of Perfection” research project and gave them the following general instructions:
“Photoshop her form. The idea is to Photoshop and retouch this woman to make her more attractive to the citizens of your country. We are looking to explore how perceptions of beauty change across the world. Multiple designers are involved. You can modify clothing, but her form must be visible. No nudity. All other changes, including those to her shape and form, are up to you.”
The results of this women beauty standards research project are surprising since the most focused area for all of the countries where the woman’s waist was made smaller and her breasts larger
The result from China and Italy had the most drastic and unrecognizable change.
